Staff are encouraged to ask questions at regular all company meetings either anonymously in advance via a ‘red envelope’ or through a live online system. Our MD, Reuben and Director of People, Ian answer these questions ‘live’ during the meeting.
Sometimes the questions are tough but the answers are always honest and with good humour!

Our Hiring Process
We’re looking for a combination of outstanding talent and people who are a great fit for the Coalters culture.
Our interview process is reassuringly thorough and holistic so that we get the right talent in the right roles. We hold several stages designed to discover everything from role-related knowledge to hidden strengths, besides how well each individual will fit the Coalters approach to work life.
Our new recruits tell us that this process also helps them to get to know Coalters and figure out if we’re the right fit for them too – because relationships are two-way aren’t they?

Training & Development
We believe a developed team is a productive one, that’s why training is a significant part of everyday life at Coalters.
To ensure customer service excellence, our new starters spend 50% of their time being trained or coached.
Within a team of 33, we have three full time Training & Development professionals ensuring we have the vital manpower to hold weekly training sessions and provide a bespoke in house management programme: The Developing Managers Scheme.
